“prayer is where action is."                    John wesley

Adults who consider themselves seniors provide leadership, wisdom, and grace to the life of our church. Our senior adult ministry is a vibrant and active group for the more mature members of our congregation. Through the ministries of the church, our senior adults serve together, fellowship together, and travel together.

Our senior adults serve by teaching Sunday School, providing leadership for committees, and by participating in many of our church’s mission endeavors in our community. They fellowship together with luncheons, special events, and a variety of programs. From day trips to local areas of interest to extended tours to further destinations, our senior adults have many opportunities to enrich their lives with travel.

If you would like to get involved with a fun-loving group of people who are living life more abundantly, come join the senior adult ministry.

United Methodist Men

We have a great group of United Methodist Men who meet once a month in the fellowship hall. Their meeting is on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. They have dinner together followed by a business meeting. The UMM support our scouts programs, give support to our mission programs, and make Brunswick Stew twice a year.

United Methodist Women

Our United Methodist Women have chartered chapters at St. Luke's that are quite active with a variety of events, service projects, mission activities and spiritual development programs ongoing throughout the year. There are five different UMW circles that meet at the church or in member's homes. They are each unique and provide an opportunity for you to be a part of a group that meets your interests.  They meet regularly together in a general meetings and participate in District UMW events.

Echos

Our more seasoned adults have a special group we call ECHOS. This wonderful small group gathers together to serve our Lord through mission and ministry projects throughout the year, while enjoying a tremendous fellowship. They have taken trips to places such as Lake Junalaska, the Billy Graham Museum, and the botanical gardens at Duke University. They meet the third Tuesday of every month in the fellowship hall for fellowship, devotions and lunch.
