Welcome to the web-based home of Danville, Virginia's St. Luke's United Methodist Church!
The ST. LUKE'S congregation meets every Sunday for worship at 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. with Sunday School for all ages at 9:45 a.m. The 8: 30 a.m. service provides a casual worship experience with contemporary music led by our youth band, Soulfull. The 10:45 a.m. service is a more traditional time of worship.
Our Sunday School provides an opportunity for all ages to come together and study God's Word from Nursery to our older adults.

LYRA to sing at St. Luke's
We regret to announcement that LYRA, a vocal ensemble from St. Petersburg, Russia, will not be able to perform at St. Luke's this spring. We are hoping to bring LYRA back to Danville when they schedule their fall tour schedule.. They are a very talented vocal ensemble and all their music is accapella. We want to invite uur Danville community and the congregation to join us for this wonderful evening. A free will offering will be taken to help with LYRA's travel and expenses.

Greetings From The Pastor
I have been serving as a pastor in the Virginia Conference for 28 years. I have served in the Winchester, Tidewater, and now the Danville area of Virginia. I have been married to Martha Jane Osborn Phillips for 36 years. We have two sons who live in Chesapeake, Virginia. Ryan is our oldest and Kris the youngest. Kris and Jessica have three daughters, Jordan, Kylie and London. We enjoy each time the girls get to come and spend time with us in Danville. I grew up in Tidewater, Virginia and graduated from Denbigh High School in Newport News, Virginia. I earned my BS in Business Administration from Christopher Newport University in 1983, my Master in Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary in 1987, and my Doctor in Ministry in Spiritual Formation from Asbury Theological Seminary in 1996. I have led 17 mission teams to Chelyabinsk, Russia where we spent two weeks at a time working in an orphanage in the city. I have also been involved or led mission teams to Seirra Leone, West Africa, West Virginia, ASP in Tennessee, and been a part of the Shenandoah Valley Outreach Project. I have been the chairperson of the Virginia Conference Russia Initiative, served on the Board of Directors of United Methodist Family Services, and served on the Virginia Conference Board of Discipleship. We have a great staff with excellent ministries for older adults, youth, and children. There is a lot going on here at St. Luke's and we invite you to come and be a part of the ministry.
