Rev. Susan Milam Hannah
Financial Secretary/Administrative Assistant
Martha Caviness has served as Financial Secretary since 1998 and AdministrativeAssistant since 2006. After twenty-eight years in banking, Martha retired as a Banking Center Manager for Nations Bank in 1997. She has been married to her husband Ed for fifty-one years, and they have two children, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. One thing she likes about St. Luke’s is how the congregation, both young and old, has supported and participated in the church’s new backpack ministry with G. L. H. Johnson Elementary school.
Director of Children’s Ministries
Lisa Thomasson has served as Director of Children’s Ministry since 2006. She is married to Chuck and they have one teenage son, Jacob. Lisa has been an active member of St. Luke’s for over twenty years and even met her husband here. She holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Averett University and has previous experience in retail management. Lisa’s calling into children’s ministry came after many years of serving in the department as a volunteer. She enjoys reading, spending time with family, and most importantly she is a “Band Mom”, supporting all of her son’s musical endeavors.
Mark and Laura Dille
Mark and Laura Dille are our Youth Directors. Mark was previously Youth Director at St. Luke’s from 2006-2009 and resumed again this time with his wife, Laura, in the fall of 2014. He holds a Bachelors in Religion from Averett University, from which he graduated in 2009. Mark was born in Alabama, raised in Maryland, and spent his teenage years in Cary, NC where his family still resides. In his spare time, Mark enjoys writing and performing original music.
Laura Dille holds a Bachelors in Sociology with minors in Hispanic Studies and English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, from which she graduated in 2012. Laura grew up in the Danville area and attended St. Luke’s since elementary school. Laura works at a non-profit food pantry in Carrboro, North Carolina and enjoys reading, cooking, and Netflix marathons in her spare time.
Director of Music Ministries/Organist
Diane Collie has served as St. Luke’s Director of Music Ministries/Organist since 2006. She also leads the music sessions for the “All God’s Children” Wednesday program. Diane holds a B.A. Degree in Piano Performance, from Randolph-Macon Women’s College, (now Randolph College.) She is married to Jimmy Collie, and they have two grown sons, Christopher and John. In addition to her position at St. Luke’s, she is a private piano and organ teacher, has previously taught at Chatham Hall and The Carlisle School in Martinsville, and is the accompanist for DACAS, (Danville Area Choral Arts Society.) In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family, cooking, photography, being on the computer and music composition.
